Greetings from the National and Global Chapters of Women Entrepreneurs of America (WEA) and the Founder and National President, Yolanda Lamar-Wilder! This year is a true milestone for all of us at WEA as we celebrate 10 years of leadership, sisterhood, support and service for and service to Women Entrepreneurs Of America nonprofit community globally. Implemented and Chartered November, 2002!
Now a decade down the road, WEA has grown tremendously from a promising idea among a few small business entrepreneurs of the Cleveland, Ohio community to one of the most successful and respected national women's associations in the country by far.
To honor this very special anniversary, we will host a variety of marketing and advertising events in the development and milestones about Women Entrepreneurs Of America growth. Kicking off in July, 2012 to August 2012, we will profile a number of the partnerships that have been and will continue to be so important to our success, tells the story of our members at work through words and pictures, and highlights our accomplishments and impact through the years. We hope that you get as much enjoyment out of turning the pages of growing as entrepreneurs as we did building the ongoing alliances that has supported the well-needed women's organization. It’s truly an inspiring story of success implemented by an Inspiring Startup Entrepreneur and built upon tens of thousands of
hours of “brain-storming” by many individuals—nonprofit leaders, program partners, investors and supporters, and WEA National and Local officers
and board members to name a few.
Milestones are always an important time to look into the rear view mirror and reflect on the road behind us. Doing so helps to ensure
that we are not only better prepared for future challenges, but more importantly, that we are well positioned to take advantage of the
many opportunities that the future will present to us as now Entrepreneurs in the Making! As we look back on the past ten years, there are three important factors that are fundamental drivers of WEA’s success—our collective WEA voice expressed through our membership (now 650+ strong and growing),
our commitment to excellence in supporting women in business and in all that we do as entrepreneurs, and our network of strategic partners that are aligned with our mission on a National presence. These three entrepreneurial drivers rise to the top and will continue to be the pillars of our foundation in the future.
Looking ahead to the next ten years, our mission to promote and empower more inspiring, disadvantage women entrepreneurs that are starting and sustaining businesses globally will remain the same and we will build upon our solid foundation of individual startups and seasoned focused member support to expand our work providing broader leadership for the nonprofit sector. Importantly, this will include expanded and targeted public education activities about the vital role of
corporations and nonprofits and much deeper public policy engagement on the issues that will shape our future as a sector.
We are well positioned to take this next step as an national women's organization. The best is yet to come.
We would like to close with a simple and heartfelt thank you to all of you—members, community leaders, program partners, and supporters—who have made
Women Entrepreneurs Of America a shining example of what can be done when "women helping women to succeed" join together in common purpose for a better entrepreneurial future. We are "tipping our hats are off to you" and God Bless you all for serving and being apart of the "entrepreneurial movement" me and WEA.
